Two of the lost gems of the Zelda series, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, are being re-released on the Nintendo 3DS.
So it’s not enough that we get great, high caliber games like Super Mario 3D Land and Fire Emblem: Awakening – we also get forgotten classics and quality remakes. Despite its rocky start, the 3DS is quickly becoming one my favorite gaming devices.
For those of you who haven’t played the Oracle games, here’s your chance. Featuring old school Zelda presentation mixed with brand new puzzles and never before seen weapons, Capcom’s stab at Zelda proved every bit as enduring and innovative as the rest of the series. And, thankfully, the “game link” system will survive the adaptation, so the functionality – and epic true ending – will remain intact.
It’s a good time to be Zelda fan, folks. I’m looking forward to diving back in to both of these beloved titles as we await the Wind Waker remake. Are you going to pick them up?
